chr claims flawed national ivf outcomes by cdc and sart

Omega Family Global realizes flawed reporting of fertility success rates can occur.  For this reason, we work with only trusted and known fertility clinics.

Those of us in the fertility industry have known for some time how inconsistent the reporting of national IVF outcomes by clinics has been over the years.  With many patients relying on this information, despite warnings from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology (SART), some consistency amongst reporting seems like a no brainer.

For example, as reported by the Center for Human Reproduction (CHR), the members of this clinic argue that any remedies to the reporting to the CDC and SART must “have immediate and far-reaching enough impacts in stopping current abuses of the system.”

As CHR explained,  “a new and improved system should allow for fair comparisons between IVF centers and include penalties for intentional manipulations as well as non-reporting.”

In fact, CHR’s own investigators concluded that because ‘the public does not have the expertise to differentiate true from manipulated outcome reporting, no outcome reporting is preferable to flawed reporting.”

Interesting piece for discussion.  Read more here.  What say you?
